Our latest article titled “Wear Performance Under Dry and Lubricated Conditions of Duplex Treatment TiN/TiCrN Coatings Deposited With Different Numbers of CrN Interlayers on Steel Substrates” where the wear properties of duplex treated pvd coatings under dry and boundary lubricated conditions were investigated, has been online in April 2023 at the Journal “Wear” which is one of the most prestigious publications of the academic world.

This article investigates the wear properties of TiN/TiCrN coatings with different numbers of CrN interlayers applied to steel substrates under dry and boundary lubrication conditions. The performance of duplex treated PVD coatings improves with an increase in the number of interlayers and provides better results under boundary lubrication conditions. This research provides an important contribution to optimize the performance of coating materials in industrial applications.

Our new article titled “Effect of AISI H13 Steel Substrate Nitriding on AlCrN, ZrN, TiSiN, and TiCrN Multilayer PVD Coatings Wear and Friction Behaviors at a Different Temperature Level” where the wear behaviors of various PVD coatings at ambient and elevated temperatures were analyzed, has been published in “Materials” Journal in February 2023.

This study investigates the effect of AISI H13 steel substrate nitriding on the low and high-temperature wear behavior of different PVD coating types. The wear and friction behaviors of AlCrN, ZrN, TiSiN, and TiCrN multilayer coatings were examined at different temperature levels. This research is an important step to understand the effect of nitriding on the performance of coating materials to improve their performance.

Our article titled “Effects of Al, Ti, and Cr content with different interlayer configurations on tribological behavior of AlCrN and AlTiN multilayer coatings” has been published in the “Part L: Journal of Materials: Design and Application” section of the journal “Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers”.

This article is a study on the low and high temperature wear behavior of different PVD coating types. In addition, the wear and friction behaviors of AlCrN, ZrN, TiSiN, and TiCrN coatings with AISI H13 steel were evaluated at different temperature levels. The results of the study can be useful in coating design and material selection.

Our investment in the new Pvd coating facility in Bursa is completed by moving into our own place within NOSAB (Nilüfer Organized Industrial Zone). We started to offer all our capabilities to our customers with a new 2022 Platit PVD coating machine. During the related processes, we crowned all the necessary procedures with our custom-made 1-tonne ultrasonic wash and blast cabins. The investment was made in particular for molding technologies and was completed by generating atmospheric section layouts so that moisture and dust from different processes should not interfere. As in Istanbul, by using Dynamics & Nav cloud technologies, all processes are digitally monitored and reported in our Bursa facility now as well. We have also reduced our carbon emissions by completing the integration of the heating system in order to use the hot air that our machines produce for cold months.

Our new article titled “Wear and friction behavior of CrTiN/TiCN and CrTiN/CrCN multilayer composite coatings” that includes a part of the experimental studies in the scope of our R&D Project #3190405 supported by Tubitak&Teydeb is published online in “Ceramics International” which is one of the highest rated Q1 category international scientific journals in materials science.

Our joint study conducted with the Naval Academy regarding PVD-CrN coated Copper-Beryllium (Cu-Be) alloys is published in the Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science in England.

The article was written by our R&D and Innovation Manager Dr. Cenk Türküz, and Naval Academy Lecturer Dr. Doğuş Özkan. The abstract of the article is given below:

Copper beryllium (CuBe) with good mechanical and high electrical conductivity properties is used in metalworking, electronic devices, automotive systems, and aerospace systems. Having low hardness limits its usage in tribosystems such as internal combustion engine valve train systems. In this study, heat-treated CuBe material was coated with CrN under a micron thickness by cathodic arc physical vapor deposition (arc-PVD) to improve wear resistance not only at unlubricated condition but also at the lubricated condition for tribosystem, especially a material candidate for cam tappets. Therefore, CrN-coated CuBe, CuBe, and AISI52100 steel samples were tested by a tribometer at unlubricated and lubricated sliding conditions. Surface morphological changes and tribochemical formation were investigated by optical microscope, optical profilometer, atomic force microscope, and scanning electron microscope. The results showed that CrN increased the wear resistance of the CuBe significantly, and it can be used as cam tappet material both on unlubricated and boundary lubrication regimes.
